Classification of Flux Cored Wires
According to the production characteristics, flux cored wire can be divided into seamless flux cored wire and seamless flux cored wire. The finished wire of seamless flux cored wire can be plated with copper. The moisture-proof performance of the wire during storage and the conductivity during welding are better than those of slotted flux cored wire.
Flux cored wires have different classification methods according to different situations.
According to the protection situation, it can be divided into gas protection (CO2, AR rich mixed gas), self protection, submerged arc and open arc.
According to the diameter of welding wire, it can be divided into fine diameter (less than 2.0mm) and coarse diameter (more than 2.0mm).
According to the welding wire section, it can be divided into simple section and complex section.
According to the power supply used, it can be divided into AC steep drop characteristic power supply and DC flat characteristic power supply.
According to the filler material, it can be divided into slag forming flux cored wire (titanium oxide type, titanium calcium type and calcium fluoride type) and metal powder cored flux cored wire.
Common gas shielded flux cored wires are: AWS A5 29 / 5.28 e71t1-c (m), e81t1-k2, e81t1-ni1, e91t1-k2, e101-k3, e111t1-k3, e80c-g, e90c-g, e110c-g, etc. (general diameter: 1.2mm-1.6mm)
Common self protective flux cored wire: General diameter: 1.6mm-3.2mm
Common flux cored wires for submerged arc heap welding are: AWS A5 23 f71a, f8a4, f9a4, f11-a8, etc. (general diameter: 2.4mm-4.0mm)
From the perspective of development and application of flux cored wire, it can be classified as follows:
Slag forming gas shielded flux cored wire can be divided into CO2 gas shielded flux cored wire. The main varieties are used for carbon steel, 50kg low alloy structural steel (all position welding), high strength steel (60-70kg), low temperature steel (- 45 ℃, - 60 ℃ impact toughness), heat resistant steel (1.25cr-0.5mo system, 2.25Cr-1Mo system), weather resistant steel (coated and non coated) Stainless steel (welding SUS304, 304L, 316, 316L, 317, 317L, 321, 347, 309S stainless steel), hardfacing (hv250, Hv350, hv450, hv600).
Slag forming gas shielded flux cored wire can be divided into ar rich mixed gas shielded flux cored wire. The main varieties are used for carbon steel, 50kg low alloy structural steel (all position welding), high strength steel (60-70kg), low temperature steel (- 45 ℃, - 60 ℃ impact toughness) and wear-resistant surfacing (13cr-2ni system).
Metal powder cored flux cored wire can be divided into CO2 gas shielded flux cored wire. The main varieties are used for carbon steel, 50kg low alloy structural steel, high strength steel (60kg) and wear-resistant surfacing (high Cr Fe system, HV800).
Metal powder cored flux cored wire can be divided into ar rich mixed gas shielded flux cored wire. The main varieties are used for carbon steel, 50kg low alloy structural steel, low temperature steel (- 60 ℃ impact toughness), stainless steel (13cr-5ni system, 13cr-4ni Mo system, 17Cr system) and wear-resistant surfacing (13mn system, 16mn-16cr system). The main varieties of self shielded flux cored wire are used for carbon steel, 50kg low alloy structural steel and wear-resistant surfacing.
