AWS A5.18 ER70S-6 welding wire, copper-coated, manganese-sillicon-alloy solid wire for the GMAW of non-alloy steel, such as general structural, pressure-vessel and ship steels, as well as fine-grained carbon-manganese steels for the same purpose, with a minimum yield strength of less than 420MPa. It can be welded with Ar/Co2 mixture gas or pure Co2 as the shielding gas.

Non copper ER70s-6 do not have copper coated, but requires better production technology level and anti-rust oil with advanced formula.
This type of product is more eco friendly and the absence of copper on the surface of the wire leads to cleaner deposits and avoids the metallurgical risk of increased copper content in the molten pool.
Also, fewer harmful fume is created during welding with copper-free wire, which provides a safer working environment for welders.
